Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my sink? How many holes do I need?
You need 3 pre-drilled holes at 8" centers, which is the US standard bridge faucet spacing. Measure centre-to-centre between your two outer holes. If that measurement is 8 inches, Verdeau drops straight in.
Choosing the side sprayer? You need a 4th hole. Most US kitchen sinks ship with four, often with the extra one capped. Check before ordering, because drilling a new hole in stainless steel is possible but drilling granite or quartz is a fabricator job.
If your holes are a different spread, or you are working with a single-hole sink, email [email protected] with your measurements before ordering. We machine to order and can often adjust.
How thick can my countertop be?
The threaded base was lengthened specifically for thick countertops, which is an improvement a returning customer noticed between his 2022 order and his recent one.
Standard granite, quartz, and butcher block are all fine. If you are working with an unusually thick slab, a thick deck plus an undermount sink rim, or a stacked edge detail, send us the total thickness and we will confirm before you order rather than after.
Can I install this myself, or do I need a plumber?
Most people with basic plumbing confidence install it themselves. It connects to standard US shutoff valves, the supply hoses and all hardware are included, and a step-by-step manual plus the installation guide PDF are on this page.
The job is: shut off water, remove the old faucet, seat the new one, tighten from below, connect the supply lines, turn the water on, check for drips. The awkward part is working on your back inside a cabinet, which is why some people hire out this one job.

How fast does it patina, and can I keep it bright?
It arrives polished and bright, then begins changing within days. With no lacquer on the surface, brass reacts with air and water. Expect a warm deepening in the first weeks, then darker tones settling into the areas your hands do not touch. The spout and handles stay brighter precisely because you use them.
Want it bright permanently? Polish with a brass cream and it returns close to new. Do that monthly for consistent shine, or leave it and let the patina build. You can reverse the decision at any point for the life of the faucet, which is not true of a lacquered finish, where the coating eventually chips and cannot be repaired.
Patina is normal ageing, not a defect.
What will damage the finish?
Avoid: vinegar, bleach, ammonia, limescale removers, abrasive pads, and acidic bathroom or kitchen sprays. These strip brass unevenly and leave permanent pale patches that polishing will not fully blend out.
Daily care is just: warm water, mild soap, soft cloth, dried after use. In hard water areas, drying the spout is the single habit that prevents mineral spotting.
Will it work with my water pressure?
Ceramic cartridges and a solid brass waterway handle normal mains pressure without issue. Flow at the spout is set by your household supply and the included aerator, not by the faucet body.
If you are on a low-pressure gravity-fed system, which is more common in older UK and European homes than in the US, email us your setup before ordering so we can tell you what to expect rather than you finding out after installation.
Is this solid brass all the way through?
Yes. Solid brass, no plating, no hollow castings, no zinc core. Plated faucets use a cheap base metal under a thin decorative layer, which is why they eventually flake at the handles and spout tip and cannot be repaired.
Solid brass has no layer to fail. Scratches polish out, the colour goes all the way through, and this is why customers consistently describe the faucet as heavy. That weight is the honest signal.
Can I add the side sprayer later?
Yes. The sprayer is available separately at any time, and we offer a discounted upgrade within 90 days of your original order.
The one thing to settle now is the hole. If your sink has a 4th hole available, adding the sprayer later is simple. If it does not, retrofitting means drilling the counter or sink, which is far easier to plan for before installation than after.
Will it match my other unlacquered brass fixtures?
Every Insideast unlacquered brass piece comes from the same workshop and the same alloy, so they age in step when bought together.
If you already own Insideast brass that has been in place a while, a new faucet will start bright while the existing pieces have darkened. It catches up, but allow some months. Pieces from another brand are a different alloy and may patina to a different tone, which we cannot guarantee a match on.
What if something goes wrong after it is installed?
Return it unused in its original packaging within 30 days if you change your mind. Check fit against your hole spacing the day it arrives, before installation begins.
After that, our team personally handles installation and maintenance questions for as long as you own it. Cartridges and standard internals are serviceable rather than disposable, which is the practical advantage of a traditional brass build over a sealed modern unit.
How is this different from the straight bridge model?
Verdeau's V-arch spout rises higher, giving you more clearance for tall pots and a stronger architectural presence above the sink. The straight bridge sits lower and reads more minimal.
Identical solid brass construction and unlacquered finish on both. This is purely a question of how much visual height you want. If your sink sits under a window with limited headroom, measure first.

Delivery was late, and they didn't respond to emails for many business days then blamed it on a single holiday. ALL of the connector parts for actually hooking up the faucet to plumbing are cheaply and poorly made. The amazing plumber who did perfect work in our home couldn't make them stop leaking, even following their provided instructions. We have to pay to have him come back, with all new parts, to try and figure out how to make it work. Only giving three stars because the faucet itself is gorgeous.
As soon as the package arrived the company sent me a message asking if everything arrived okay and if I was happy. I purchased a kitchen bridge faucet with a handheld sprayer. I had purchase the same faucet for my pantry in 2022 and I immediately noticed that Insideast had made some design improvements. The threaded portion on the base of the faucet is longer now (two inches) and will more easily extend through a granite or soapstone countertop. The new faucet handles now have a brass cover over the ceramic cartridges and nut. Very nice finished look. The swivel neck is also more solid at the base. These are all things that past reviewers had discussed and it is obvious to me now that the company listens. These are very nice improvements. The faucet and sprayer came with every nut, bolt and hose that is needed for installation.

Absolutely beautiful faucet! The quality is excellent, it matched the description perfectly and exceeded my expectations. I was a bit nervous about the install due to the custom nature of the item, but my husband had no problems. It’s already starting to patina and I just love it. I purchased the faucet, sprayer, garbage disposal flange and regular sink drain, which I didn’t end up needing, but all were packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. Finally, the shipping was extremely fast. I received it well ahead of the target delivery date, even faster than something else I ordered within the US. Can’t wait to come back when we redo our bathroom!
